612 and counting monday 09.25.2006

i went camping this past weekend. i brought several things to knit including the shawl. except i didn't knit it much because i was afraid of getting it dirty. subsequently, i didn't get a chance to pose with it for a camp-ho-knits series.

i got home last night and, after a good scrub down, i spent an hour working on the shawl. it is now 612 stitches around and it takes me exactly 17 minutes to knit each round.

don't you love timing your rounds?? It's fun to time a pattern row and then a stockinette row to see the difference. I may have to pull mine out since you are halfway caught up to my stitch count.

love the ziplock baggie idea for protection - how fun to camp and knit!

Right. I am at 888sts and 31 minutes. My average is 2.09 seconds per stitch. Yours is 1.67 seconds per stitch. So, who do you think is going to finish their shawl first..... :)
