thanks to everyone for having suggested various fun text for a sweater. i got quite a few votes on "deep fried" but i just couldn't bring myself to knit that many letters. i also like gopi's idea of spelling something backwards. i seriously considered using "tink" or "rettink" because i rip all my projects at least twice before i'm happy with the knitting.

alas, i decided to go with a safe word with just enough letters to keep me challenged. blame it on this picture.

oops, wrong picture. that one inspired some other activity. i meant this one.

kris freeman, cross country skier

straight forward and fairly appropriate. verb, noun, brand, no matter. i thought about getting fancy and knit each letter a different color, etc. i'm glad i kept it simple; gray and blue caused enough swearing as it was.

i'm going for that as soon my text knitting skills are improved.

I like it, I like it a lot! I do think the backwards word would be great but I just read it as tink like tinkerbell, having just been in her land & all.
Are you doing saddle shoulders?

Are you using fair-isle, intarsia or duplicate stitches? Or is it all of the above? Nice pictures, by the way, very inspiring.

I love this SO much. And also the postcard.

I'm way into letters and words right now, in all crafty media. Just got MORE rubber stamps with one of those magnetic things so you can more easily stamp words. Onto what, I don't know. Just need that capability.

Please think of a word for me to stencil, with bleach, onto my denim sweater. It's hard to think of good words for this purpose, I find. It's a kind of poetry. xoxo Kay
