wha... tuesday 03.22.2005

it's raining lots and lots today. i sit at my desk and glance nervously at the windows; i suspect that they'll get blown out by the pounding wind any minute now.

the last glance made me do a double take.

see that black mark in the middle of the window? remember, i'm on the fourth story of this apartment buildinig, the top floor.

can you see it? a slug! it's like a scene out of the fear factor. it made me spring a few steps back away from the window. hahahahaha. how in the world did it get there? did it slime all the way up from the street? it's leaving a long old trail on the glass and it's totally creeping me out!

now i can't stop glancing at it. it's squirming ever so slowly up the sky. it recoils every time a rain drop hits it on the head. urgh! i wish a bald eagle would swoop down through the deluge and eat it already! i would hate to have that slimy mass to come flying in when the window breaks!

I hope the sun breaks through the clouds long enough to bake that critter to a crisp, but not on your window of course. Hopefully you won't be left with a silver slime trail on your window forever and ever and ever...

Wow, you & Tracy are like slug-sisters or something! Um...it's a good point you have about how it got up there...

Hey I have a funny story about a slug you might enjoy - or not?!?! Hubby and I went camping a while back. We arrived at the site after dark. When we set up the tent we did the best we could to find a perfect level spot. Got all squared away, tucked away in our sleeping bags and fell fast asleep till the morning. Hubby woke up before me and started to rub my back, I could tell he was startled so I asked him what was wrong. He says "Honey is that a mole on your back?" I said "No Why?" His eyes got big and pulled his hand out from under my shirt still gripping what he felt on my back. To our surprise it was a SLUG!!! Now, one would think I would be freaking out at this point...Nope I was calm, cool and collected. I was going to take it in stride since I am going to be a brave new "country gal". So, I had reached for the flash light so that hubby would be directed to the opening of the tent and discard the slug. OH MY GOD!!! when the lights came on I totally freaked out. The inside of that tent was COVERED with SLUGS...in the sleeping bag, on top of the sleeping bag, on the inside of the tent... there must have been atleast 50 of them. Now this was the time i FREAKED OUT - that "brave new country gal" was just going to have to wait another time cause I hauled butt out of the tent screaming. I am sure that the neighboring campers were wondering what the heck hubby was doing to me. LOL. So, lesson learned - no more setting up camp in the dark so you can see where you place your tent. Well, hope you got a laugh out of that Thuy, I know now I can laugh about it, but at the time I sure was grossed out. LOL....take care!
