i was up at northstar saturday snowboarding with jg and amanda. we took different runs so i was by myself most of the time. this meant i had to share my lifts with strangers.
i took the same lift all morning, the vista express. it headed directly into the sun. during one lift, i was with three teenage boys who couldn't stop talking about how "tight" their last run was. somewhere in the middle of the ride, the wind suddenly picked up and blew a huge load of snow off the trees, dumping it directly on to our lift. we all put our arms over our faces to protect from the snow blast. the kids all went quiet. then i heard muffled screaming from one of them: fuck... dude... it's like death!
i giggled under my arm. after the snow blast, i had to ask about the comment.
"well, it got all dark and, you know, (pointing at the sun) we're moving toward the light!"
