i just thought you should know that i'm adding two more items to my christmas wish list.
the suunto vector watch is also an altimeter. it's a fun piece of gear to have on hikes. plus it would fool people help me look like i know what i'm doing. the lomo holga is a 120mm camera. i have never messed with medium format film before, but no one has to know. just be sure to send the 35mm adapter along with it.
so, santa, consider bringing me these two, okay? after all, don't you agree that they look a lot more like coals than the first two?
OK, I admit I don't know what the heck the one on the left does. But the right one I understand pretty darn well! If you want to try medium format, you might want to keep your eye out for a Brownie Hawkeye Flash -- they're likely to turn up in thrift/junk shops. Almost all of them will accept 120 in the feeder side (and the camera should come with a 620 spool inside you can use for takeup). You just need to ask the photo lab to give you back your 620 spool each time you have film developed.
Another reason to get a BHF is the Flickr BHF group -- unlike many of the somewhat snobby film groups, the people there are very friendly. Plus there are fun themed contests from time to time.
