i succumbed to the trend and ordered wool socks. all because i discovered that my $40 boots hurt less when i wear them with jg's wool lumberjack socks.

$7.93
i began the search with smartwool and ended up with eurosocks. i really dig the color patches. the no nonsense look suits me. it also helped that rei* was having a clearance sale on the euros.
isn't it sad that they make socks for sandals (bottom center symbol)? it embarrasses me so much when jg wears socks with open toe shoes. doesn't matter. the socks fit great so far. i hope they'll feel just nice the next time i'm out stomping on banana slugs.

made of 100% wool in nepal for $25
that's one of the beanies i saw while i was at rei.* i love the plain stockinette hem. i don't know how they keep it from rolling. there's a single crochet chain over the cast on edge. i wonder if it really does help keep the hem flat.

that's a kid's hat made by the same company as the one above. isn't it fun? there are quite a few creative beanies on their website. speaking of which, it's a good time of year to browse for knitting inspiration. even rei.com.*
* i hate rei, rei.com, and anything that contains the letters rei.
