i found that one in bakersfield. i would have bought it if it wasn't acrylic. i would really like to replicate it. only if i was savvy enough to recognize the pattern.
fist-like bobbles
i apologize for the blurriness of all these pictures. the iphone makes for a p-o-s camera.
seen at alpha thrift on hollister. this is the first afghan i've ever found that's actually made of wool. the piecing job is amazing. i would have bought it if it wasn't...
this one was also found at alpha thrift. acrylic, sadly. i mostly like it for the colors. the crochet job leaves a lot of be desired.
jg's mom gave me an afghan that's very similar to this pattern. it was made with wool yarn by one of jg's great aunts. i keep forgetting to show it off.
from the october issue of details magazine. yes, that magazine. please don't roll your eyes; it's a free subscription.
the caption reads: give that tired gray crewneck the winter off. for a moment i thought it said: give that tired GAY crewneck...
anyway, looks like it wouldn't take long to knit. the sweater pattern is straight forward. so is the cable. yarn is probably triple-bulky weight. i don't know about needles. broom handles, may be?
i would knit this sweater for jg, except:
thuy: if i made you this sweater, would you get your chest waxed?
jg: no. nice try.
