jg and i went down to the beach for the obligatory romantic sunset walk today. the weather has been terrific and half the sb population went to the beach with the same idea. except it wasn't entirely romantic for us. the 81° heat made hand holding impossible.
radioactive kelp bit
mini light saber
people were still pouring on to the beach well after the sunset
it was also crowded this morning when we went to romero canyon. rarely do i ever bump into anyone i know on the trails. today, i saw two!
"it's paul with schipper!"
i was sitting on the giant rock at my usual turn around point on the trail minding my own business when i heard "thuy!" i'm always filled with dread whenever i hear my name in unexpected places. so glad he was not wearing spandex, like this fool:
dog: i'm so tired of looking at his spandex!
the other person i saw on the trail lives a couple towns south so it was a big surprise to see him.
orion with his fiancee and their australian shepherd
i usually see orion on june 25 because that's our birthday. we seldom see each other for the rest of the year.
home improvement, year two
that's jg bright and early saturday morning, sandblasting and generally making a mess of the front yard.
the sand man
i went to the post office twice on saturday, once so early that it hadn't even opened yet. while in line, i noticed...
someone decided that the lowercase p makes a better capital
jg and i both had a hectic week at work. he had some crazy deadline while i had a colleague who went missing for a couple of days. he managed to show up at work as normal by friday. my nerves were so frayed i couldn't even look at him.
here i am!
(a different colleague's re-enactment of the "missing" guy)
parting shot
prickly phlox are currently in bloom. wish my camera could get a more accurate color of the flowers.
have a good week, everyone! try to stay found, please.
