i took that picture of jg's sister and her husband on the side of the road in los olivos. they visited us for an extended weekend so we made like tourists and went for a wine tasting tour on saturday.

being the non drinker, i took a walking tour of los olivos, ending up at the local nursery browsing and taking pictures for almost an hour.

sunday we took advantage of the improved weather and went for a hike up romero canyon. when doug+amy were in town some ten years ago, we hiked the same loop except in thick fog. they were never convinced that there's ocean view until now.

this morning we went for a fancy breakfast at the boat house. i had to work for most of the day but we did manage to have dinner together before doug+amy headed out. the weather hadn't been ideal but we did our best to entertain. i hope the georgians enjoyed their stay.
on our way out of town saturday, jg and i stopped by karen's for a brief visit. last time i saw karen was two months ago. anyway. we got to meet the new family member, cozmo.
i'm not a fan of boy dogs but this little guy is a charmer. i could swear he was smiling at me.
hopefully he'll charm karen right into passing waffles on to me.
last night i attended la colina junior high's production of high school musical. i was invited by my friend paul whose son played a fairly prominent role.
that's paul's son standing on the table at center stage. his most memorable line was creme brulee. the girl standing on the table to the right has a terrific voice. there were several girls with great voices. unfortunately, none of them got the lead role.
paul's son again to the right. last time i saw him he was slightly shorter than me. now he's almost a foot taller than me. anyway, how much i enjoyed the play! i was so impressed that the kids are no older than 13. several of them sounded borderline professional. just amazing.
